‘Mindfulness for Busy People’ is a group course, developed by Dr Ira van der Steenstraten. It is based on the critically acclaimed and extensively researched "Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction" (MBSR) program, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, at the University of Massachusetts Stress Reduction Clinic, combined with elements of Interpersonal Neurobiology.
In 4 x 90-minute workshops, the theoretical and neurobiological background of Mindfulness and the neurobiology and anatomy of stress will be addressed, explaining why Mindfulness is thought to be effective. A variety of guided meditations and mental exercises will be used to help train the attention of the participants.
The aim of the program is to lower levels of stress and enhances awareness and well-being.
